"Something Wicked This Way Comes” is an unexpected project, which comes from the guts when reacting to the resurgence of Trump upon my arrival in Washington in February 2024.
This project becomes a visual representation of the emotions that overcome me due to my perception of the crisis of democratic institutions in one of the main democracies in the world. In it, ominous shadows, confusion, disbelief and fear are glimpsed in the face of the resurgence of populism and the extreme right; an incessant movement that seems impossible to stop and that threatens to drag us down at any moment.
Architecture becomes a mute witness to the disintegration of democratic institutions.
It is a narrative where values and principles blur, submerging us in a sea of uncertainty. Shadows that lurk and predict an uncertain future, lines that fade and merge with nothingness.
Through this visual exploration, I invite the viewer to question and reflect on the future of our society and the legacy we will leave behind.
