"Y tú, Chinchón de Castilla, no dormirás en mi olvido, tu recuerdo es como el polvo que levanto en mi camino"
José Manuel de la Puerta
"And you, Chinchón of Castilla, you will not sleep in my oblivion, your memory is like the dust that I raise on my way"
José Manuel de la Puerta (Poet)
Personal project that documents the idiosyncrasy that runs through my hometown of Chinchón. Being the most visited town in the Community of Madrid, its old palaces and manor houses collapse due to lack of resources of the heirs to maintain such both properties. The Chinchón City Council does not allow the segregation of properties in the old town, which leads to never ending disputes between family members that can last for generations. Meanwhile, the buildings are abandoned to their luck.
The light in this project plays a fundamental role, representing that ephemeral moment when the rooms come back to life to be remembered.
Integrity in this project is very important, nothing has been touched or modified for aesthetic reasons. The rooms have been photographed in the same
state they are in.
